Steve Whitehorn, Managing Principal

Steve Whitehorn, Managing PrincipalPassionate about architecture and design Steve Whitehorn has dedicated this successful practice to helping architectural and engineering professionals reach their goals and grow more profitable futures.

After graduating from Lafayette College with a degree in business and economics, Steve worked for Massachusetts Mutual for several years before joining Whitehorn Associates, a practice his father Arthur started in 1978. He continued to grow the business under his father’s guidance until 1995, when he took over the day-to-day operations, and re-branded the company as Whitehorn Financial Group.

Drawing from over 25 years of experience, Steve created the A/E Empowerment Program, an exclusive 3-step process that helps firms create a more significant legacy, and empowers them to achieve greater impact in the projects, relationships, and committees. It is specifically designed for architectural and engineering firms of all sizes.

Steve’s numerous achievements have consistently been recognized by the professional liability insurance industry and he has qualified as a member of the Million Dollar Round Table, the premier association for financial professionals.

Steve has been published extensively in numerous architectural publications, and has provided seminars to both clients and design associations on an array of topics, including The A/E Empowerment Program, BIM/IPD, professional liability insurance for engineers, professional liability insurance for architects, and other specialized risk management topics. He is also a founding member of CNA/Victor Schinnerer’s “A/E Choice” Broker’s Program, which has recognized brokers serving the design community since 1987.

Steve remains active in his hometown of Madison, New Jersey. In early 2007, he was appointed to Madison’s Downtown Development Commission by its mayor, and he co-chairs the Public Improvement Committee. In addition, Steve is also a member of the AIA New York Professional Practice Committee and the AIA New Jersey Design Day Committee.

Steve, a traditionalist, enjoys the time-honored tradition of backyard barbecuing on his “well-seasoned” charcoal grill. And despite occasional visits by the local fire department, Steve is always happy to share his fine-tuned grilling techniques with all interested parties.
